I hate waking up in the middle of the night

We kind of got in the habit of being woken up in the middle of the night by things that made sleep a bit uncomfortable. Sound or temperature changes, usually.

The last few weeks as we’ve approached the end of our time in Idaho have been doubly bad. We have woken up and been so overcome by work to be done that we’ve just stayed up. So we’ve essentially been getting half a night of sleep.

So why am I awake again at 4 am, the night after we left?

Habit.

Daylight savings?

Probably both. Being in the habit of waking at a certain time can be hard to break. And until the body truly releases the built up stresses, long sleep still may not come.

I hope I can sleep 8 hours tonight. That sounds really good.
