Priorities. Well, one.

I’ve commented previously about the word priority being singular.

And how referring to “priorities” is a misnomer.

But what is my most important contribution doesn’t always fit the way I’ve considered it in the past.

I’ve always thought of my priority as the thing I should do to make the most impact that I am specifically the best person to execute.

However, sometimes my priority doesn’t have to be the thing I am specifically the best person to do.

Sometimes it is simply the thing that needs to be done.

So as I reflect on what my priority needs to be, I probably need to focus on the one most important thing.

And if that one most important thing is overwhelming (like remodeling a farmhouse) then it needs to be broke down into subtasks. It needs to be simplified to the one thing that needs to be done today.

So, if the one thing that needs to be done is to prepare the farmhouse to be lived in, I need to spend a little time every day doing it.
