15/30 Keep the desktop off

I’m halfway there. It really doesn’t feel like it because I’m planning on going till 31 March.

But it’s interesting to investigate what I’ve discovered. Taxes are a bit painful working directly off the phone or a Chromebook. The scanning of whatever physical documents you have that you can’t get digitally is a problem.

I may have to take the tax planner I filled out by hand to the tax office directly because Chromebook doesn’t run the software for my document scanner.

But being disciplined has its own benefits, and I’m getting much more done.

I’m spending more time being social and working in the yard (although an injury is hampering that right now). Projects are being started (and hopefully some get completed).

It’s been a good change.

As I look toward the back half, I’ll need to investigate motives and rules to govern use of the desktop. Having it on all the time invites wasted time, even if occasional computer games or YouTube deep dives aren’t bad.
