Pray like it all depends on the Lord, work like it all depends on you

I’m really good at the second half of that. Whether true or not, just about everything I do feels like it can’t be done by anyone but me.

So I work hard. I work myself to exhaustion, and I work myself to overwhelm.

And I choose not to pray. Or forget to. Or both.

Which means I’m prideful, and think I can accomplish everything without help.

The work ethic to do so is there, but the humility to recognize what I need is not.

Prayer and work must go together and be partnered.

I’ve got the work. Time to return to the praying.
