The dazzling vision of eternity

Learning to enjoy the journey has been a somewhat stated focus for a long time. As long as I’ve been writing and publishing publicly.

A lot of times, I wish I could just skip to the end and focus on things of eternal nature.

I realize I’d have to change some activities I engage in to improve them, but the realization is that doesn’t seem like much.

Many people seem to have the opposite of what I experience. They are so blinded by the things of the here and now they cannot think about eternity.

I find my interest in eternity makes everything here and now seem pointless.

Jobs, sports, most people just seem pointless, and the only thing I can get passionate about are things that will last beyond death.

Oddly, I recognize that as myopic also. Conceptually, I know many of the things in this life (skills, leadership, knowledge, friends) will be continued after death, but often those end up wrapped up with the things that seem so pointless to me.

They are supposed to make my life richer. And I either don’t let them, or I find them so pointless in the moment (or simply not worth the effort) that I don’t bother putting up with the hard stuff.
