What do I actually need to do?

I like to do things. That sentence should be more specific, but it’s also as specific as it needs to be.

If I see a thing that can be done, and I’m interested in it, I want to do it.

This has been true for writing crypto traders, growing a food forest, owning a farm, remodeling a house (and then another one), and even hunting elk.

What I’ve learned is that in many cases, I don’t need to do that thing. Or that thing doesn’t bring me the sense of fulfillment I expect.

So what should i really focus my efforts on?

Obviously not all of those. And certainly not all of them at the same time. There is a need to do. And doing should be done.

But what? And truly how much?

Happiness is a choice. And it can be chosen when in bad situations.

And despite what people may say, you can’t do anything you want. And you can’t do it all.

So how do you choose?

And thus we’ve basically returned to the conundrum of remote work and choosing where to locate yourself. It’s the “too many open doors” problem that faces a generation that isn’t good at closing doors. (Or even choosing.)

And I’m here again. Hooray.
