Over the last several years, in discussions with friends and co-workers, finances always come up. I’m surprised in many cases how little thought they have put into finances.
Often it’s a “I make enough money to pay my bills and finance the things I want to do” approach. They are often surprised when I ask a follow up question like “do you have an emergency fund?” or “are you maxing out your employer’s 401k match?”
These aren’t things taught in schools, so it’s totally understandable that the answers to both are usually “no.” But continuing to answer “no” should no longer seem acceptable.
I want to help my friends, their friends, and anyone else who is willing to answer “yes” to these and other important financial questions. I want you to feel secure in your financial future.
